The Foundation was established in 2014 by Ada Maiga and Monique Ravensberg. They share a passion for nature and West Africa. They wanted a greener world, including in Mali and Senegal. This objective is still alive, but the ways of achieving it have changed organically. Collaboration with local agricultural organisations in Mali did not get off the ground.
There has been a shift towards nature experiences in the Netherlands and Senegal, which is currently being further developed. Raising awareness of green sustainable solutions, including the use of hemp as a raw material, remains an important focus. Under Wonderful Hemp Stories, this has grown into a brand of Wonderful Green.
Everything in nature is valuable, and that is how it is organised.
Purpose
The specific goals of the foundation are nature experience and education for children and adults. This can be done in collaboration with schools or welfare organisations. Forest bathing also has a place in nature experience.
Products are made or events are organised for the brands. Among the unique Wonderful Green objectives of the brands, the focus is currently on Wonderful Hemp Stories. Moromoro is active in the background.
Team
When it was founded, the founders Ada Maiga and
Monique Ravensberg were the board and team of executives for the foundation. After more than 10 years, the foundation has matured, with a director and separate executive.
Ada remains on the board as secretary. Frans van de Krul is the chairperson and Anna van Leeuwen looks after the finances.
As a volunteer, Monique Ravensberg coordinates and realises goals for the foundation in the Netherlands and Senegal.
